Sweco faced a unique challenge in the project road 83 Bollnäs-Röste. How to replace an existing bridge and preserve its special appearance? See how Sweco used Tekla Structures and Trimble Connect to efficiently complete the project!
Challenges and solutions
The challenges of the Bollnäs-Röste väg 83 project, explains Victor Falk, Civil Engineering Project Manager at Sweco, were to manage a large amount of detail and to ensure that the bridge structure could be maintained to achieve its expected lifetime. Wood as a material is sensitive to moisture and humidity, which requires extra maintenance. To address these challenges, Victor Falk continues, Tekla Structures was the obvious choice, as Tekla allows modeling in all types of materials. "In this particular project, Sweco had to work in all three materials, concrete, wood and steel, and Tekla is the best solution," he continues."By working in Tekla Structures, Sweco was able to create buildable models and plan the project more efficiently, while taking into account the specific challenges of a wooden bridge.
