What is ISO 19650?
Projects are no longer limited to the delivery of the built asset itself. While we've always had non-technical deliverables (operations and maintenance manuals or construction plans, for example), in the digital age, deliverable data throughout an asset's lifecycle, from inception to demolition, has become essential to take into account full lifecycle costs and customer needs.
The aim of ISO 19650 is to formalize contracting processes for all the non-technical deliverables of a project (i.e. not the built good itself). It makes transparent the roles and responsibilities of each party in the definition and realization of these requirements and, at the same time, facilitates their transformation into contractual responsibilities for the parties responsible for carrying out a project.
