The Trimble Construction division of Trimble France S.A.S ("Trimble") is organizing the Trimble Construction Awards 2023 competition for structures modeled with at least one of its solutions: Tekla, Trimble Nova, Stabicad, Trimble Connect. Trimble has a multiple objective. It is to reward users or groups of users working on Tekla, Trimble Nova, Stabicad, Trimble Connect software and to promote companies (builders or design offices), and more generally to promote the use of BIM in the construction industry. It's also an opportunity to demonstrate the quality of our software through concrete examples.
Article 2. Entry requirements
Companies wishing to participate in the contest must have at least one license of one of our solutions, Tekla, Trimble Nova, Stabicad, Trimble Connect. The contest is limited to companies located in France. The contest is limited to companies located in France (Metropolitan France and French overseas departments and territories), and each participant must have a Trimble account (Trimble Identity) in order to access the Trimble Connect platform.

Trimble will determine and evaluate the category relative to the projects. Trimble France also reserves the right to cancel one of the categories if the quantity and quality of models are deemed insufficient.

4.2 For HVAC - Electrical projects

Use of the digital model - Detection of clashes, calculation reports, quantities, etc
2D & 3D renderings - Consistency and clarity of rendering sheets presented (annotations, labeling, title block, legends, graphic charter)
Article 5. Composition of the Jury
An independent jury, made up of personalities not linked to the participants, will deliberate and select the most beautiful work in categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The jury's decisions will be final. Jury secretarial services will be provided by Trimble.
Prizes awarded by the jury for categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be of the same nature and degree. The winning companies will receive a trophy and a certificate. They may also receive promotional articles in a trade magazine.
The winning user or group of users in categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 will be rewarded with vouchers worth three hundred euros (€300). The winner of the "BIM Super Prize" will receive a trophy and certificate, one (1) year's subscription to one (1) Trimble Connect AR license, and the user (or group of users) who took part in the project will receive vouchers worth three hundred euros (€300).
Article 7. Deliverables
7.1 For Structures projects
The Applicant Company must submit a model with its overall plans
not presented at the Tekla BIM Awards in previous years
. They must complete an online registration form and provide a project description when registering. Inadequate project descriptions may result in rejection. The Candidate Company may present two different models and compete in two (2) of the categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The .db1 database (Tekla model)
IFC export of Tekla project (including bolts, reinforcement). Several files can make up the entire study.
Reference file(s) overlaid on the Tekla model (IFC, DWG, SKP, RVT, etc.).
Images of the project from Tekla Structures highlighting the project in accordance with the requested settings* (min. 3 images of the entire 3D model plus images of relevant details).

→ Show only the parts, fittings and bolts required
The Candidate Company must submit a model and 2D and 3D rendering plans. It must complete an online registration form and provide a project description when registering. Insufficient project description may result in rejection. Applicants may submit two different models and compete in two categories (HVAC/plumbing and electrical).
To enter the competition, fill in the online form and submit the required documents to Trimble Connect (project name "MEP - COMPANY NAME - PROJECT NAME") and invite alexandre.collin@trimble.mom and thomas_tremoceiro@trimble.mom) to the Trimble Connect project.
A complete file must be submitted via Trimble Connect, consisting of :

Your IFC and/or rvt models (note: in the case of rvt files, you will be prompted to use the Trimble Connect for Revit application to export your rvt file to Trimble Connect)
Reference file(s) superimposed on your model (in dwg, rvt and/or IFC)
Any calculation notes that may help to understand your network
Project images from Nova or Stabicad highlighting the project and respecting the requested settings: minimum 1 image of the entire 3D model as well as images of relevant details
Settings in Nova or Stabicad :
→ General 3D view of the project
→ Detail views in plans and/or sections, displaying only the elements of the desired systems (ventilation, plumbing, heavy current, light current, lighting, etc.)
→ Rendering sheets (with title block, captions, etc.)
→ Photographs (minimum 1 image) and/or a computer-generated image of the project
Article 8. Timetable
8.1 Competition registration and project submission
Submission of projects from Tuesday, February 7, 2023 to Friday, April 28, 2023.
During the registration phase, each candidate must create a Trimble account (Trimble Identity) if they do not already have one, by following the procedure indicated on the registration form.
Each candidate must have Internet access and a valid e-mail address to take part in this competition. The e-mail address provided by each candidate must correspond to the Trimble account identifier, which will be used to access the Trimble Connect platform during the submission phase. Each candidate must have only one account.
Trimble declines all responsibility for late or non-registration.
8.2 File submission
The deadline for applications is midnight (French time) on Friday April 28, 2023.
Winners will be notified individually when their application has been received.
8.3 Jury
The final judging will take place on June 1, 2023.
For reasons beyond their control, the organizers of the Trimble Construction Awards competition may be obliged to modify the above timetable: any changes will be announced on the https://get.trimble.mom/construction-awards.html page, which candidates are invited to consult regularly.
Article 9. Image rights
9.1
The Candidate Company must necessarily be the author of the contributions submitted for participation in this contest. The Candidate Company declares that it holds full, exclusive and legal ownership of all the rights relating to this competition and may therefore transfer them within the framework of this competition without Trimble ever being concerned in this respect. In this respect, the Candidate Company indemnifies Trimble against all amicable and contentious claims in respect of intellectual property rights and liability. 9. 2 The Candidate Company acknowledges and accepts that it has been informed that any contribution submitted within the framework of this Competition must not infringe the rights of a third party, damage the reputation, dignity or integrity of a person, offend against public decency or public order, mention or suggest an activity or act that is contrary to legislative or regulatory provisions and may constitute a criminal offence (by way of illustration, incitement to hatred, apology for terrorism, child pornography, promotions involving the use of tobacco, alcohol, narcotics or prostitution).
9.3 The Candidate Company accepts Trimble's rights of use, reproduction and exploitation under the conditions set forth in this Contest. The Candidate Company agrees to assign to Trimble, free of charge and on a non-exclusive basis, the intellectual property rights relating to the contribution to this competition as listed above:
9.4
The Applicant Company authorizes Trimble France to exploit, use, publish and reproduce as part of its information, communication and advertising activities, with various audiences, in all forms and media known and unknown to date, without any limitation, for an unlimited period (representations of the models (plans, 3D views, details), in full and in excerpts, in particular during public screenings, on all electronic communication networks (website, social networks eg : LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and any other social network), on any medium (paper, digital, magnetic, optical, multimedia, videography, storage media) paper publications (magazines, activity reports), in commercial documents, sales presentations, in commercial videos, trade shows, public awards events. The names of the various companies: the model owner, the client and the manufacturer will appear clearly on all publications.
The designer of the model will have previously obtained the agreement of the client and possibly the builder to take part in the competition. The mere fact of submitting a file implies acceptance of this clause.
9.5 The Candidate Company authorizes the organizer to represent and disseminate projects, present, and exhibit the dossiers submitted in any media or trade fairs, whatever the medium, likely to deal with the Trimble Construction Awards.
9.6 The Candidate Company authorizes the organizer to transform, adapt, modify the contributions for the needs of publication and networking, such as modification of model backgrounds, color, size, electronic format, in particular on the website and on social networks, without this infringing the moral rights of the author.
Article 10. Conditions of participation and commitment of candidates
10.1 Participation in the Trimble Construction Awards is free of charge.
10.2
Natural and legal persons directly or indirectly involved in the organization of the competition are not eligible to enter the Trimble Construction Awards**.10.3** Material submitted for this competition will not be returned to the contestant. Trimble will not be held responsible for any material lost in transit.
10.4
Trimble reserves the right to cancel the competition or to remove any category if the number of candidates or models is insufficient**.10.5** Trimble also reserves the right to change the closing date for competition entries. In this case, Trimble will inform the public on the page
10.6 The Candidate Company may present two different models and compete in 2 of the categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
10.7 Participation in the competition implies full and complete acceptance of the provisions of these rules Any company entering the Trimble Construction Awards competition undertakes to :
Read and accept these rules in full and without reservation.
Provide accurate information in its application file. If any or all of the information provided by the candidate company is found to be false, it may be immediately eliminated from the competition, with no right of appeal. Furthermore, any finalist company providing false information will have its prize cancelled, and will be required to reimburse any cash prizes received, as well as any benefits in kind.
Expressly authorize the organizers to exploit, use and disseminate, via any medium, its company name, place of study, as well as the characteristic elements of its activity and project, for a period of one (1) year following the end of the competition. The candidate company waives all rights to its image, solely for the purposes of this competition, and accepts in advance the distribution of photographs that may be taken during jury meetings and prize-giving ceremonies.

Article 12 - Responsibilities and rights
12.1
Trimble reserves the right to modify, extend, shorten or limit access to the entry date(s)/time(s) or to suspend the home page of this contest in the event of technical difficulties or force majeure as defined by the provisions of the French Civil Code and in accordance with the interpretation of French case law. Consequently, Trimble cannot be held liable in the event of force majeure.
12.2
Trimble cannot be held responsible for fraudulent use of connection rights or attribution to a participant of this contest.
12.3
Trimble cannot be held responsible in the event of malfunction of the Internet network, telephone lines or reception equipment preventing the smooth running of this contest. Trimble cannot be held responsible for problems with the routing or loss of electronic mail or material when such events result from circumstances beyond Trimble's reasonable control**.12.4** Trimble cannot be held responsible for technical failures, anomalies, hardware and software of any kind (viruses, bugs, etc.) caused on the registrants' system, their computer equipment and the data stored therein and the consequences that may arise on their personal, professional or commercial activity.
Article 13. Attribution of competence
13.1
These rules are governed by French law.
13.2
In the event of any dispute or claim regarding this contest for any reason whatsoever, the parties will endeavor to reach an amicable agreement in good faith. In pursuit of this objective, any claim by a participant must be made in writing, in French, to Trimble's address above.
13.4
Failing amicable agreement between the Parties, any dispute relating to these Rules shall be brought before the competent courts of Paris - France.
